definate improvement over the original part, metal brass parts instead of all plastic and fits exactly like the orginal. Original float valve lasted 11 seasons, not bad. I've saved a lot of money buying a scuttle drain timer, replacement humidifier pads, replacement electronic air cleaner cell, and this part. All through ON TIME MALL. My Local HVAC company always wanted huge amounts to get these parts from. ON TIME MALL has always come through quickly.

This float valve was easy and quick to install. It came with clear instructions that included pictures on how to assemble. The brass fittings were nicer than the plastic ones that were included with my original valve. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the valve (based on the instructions) seems like it was meant to be attached to a solid pipe (copper) and my needed to be attached to a plastic tube. Because of this the fitting leaked initially. I was able to put a small brass ring (not included with this assembly) inside of the plastic tube to give it more of a seal. This worked.
