Honeywell replacement FC100A1045 21.5 x 21.5 x 4 MERV 11 filter media. The FC100A series filter is a cardboard frame box-style filter made up of a web of fibers.

As air passes through the filter media, particulates such as dust, pollen, dander, mold, and bacteria collide with the fibers in the filter and become trapped. Meanwhile, the clean air is allowed to continue through your heating and cooling system and into your home.

When installed into your home’s heating and cooling system, a Honeywell Home Media Air Cleaner traps and filters airborne particles and contaminants from the air passing through the duct system helping to ensure cleaner air is distributed throughout your home. Media Air Cleaners capture up to 96% of airborne particles passing through the HVAC system, and maintain high airflow in your heating and cooling system so that it functions at full efficiency.

MERV (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) measures a filter's efficiency. The MERV value collects information on the efficiency of the filter against varying particles of differing sizes from fine (smoke) to coarse (pollens), then consolidates it into one easy-to-understand number. The MERV rating can be used to compare and contrast filters made by different manufacturers so long as testing conditions are the same.

Lasts up to four times longer than a standard one-inch furnace filter. Replace every 6-12 months versus monthly or quarterly changes. The media filter must be replaced when the pressure drop across the media filter reaches 0.5 in. w.c. (0.1 kPa), or at least annually. If the media air cleaner is installed downstream from an atomizing humidifier or if the installation includes both heating and cooling, more frequent replacement may be necessary. Clogged media must be replaced promptly to avoid restricting airflow and reducing the efficiency of the heating/cooling system. Record the replacement date in the space provided on the replacement media filter.
